Notebook:
(May not be needed this semester (Fall, 2020))
You will need a lab notebook for all the labs, including the
first. Select a notebook to which you cannot add pages and
which isn't much larger than a standard sheet of paper.
Lab Breadboard and Parts:
(May not be needed this semester (Fall, 2020))
You will need a breadboard and wires for all the labs, including
the first. It’s $10.50 at the ECE stockroom. Bring
your own if you have one. All the other parts needed will
total about $5 for ECE 2200 and $8 for ECE 2210. You may
work with one lab partner in the lab and share the same
parts. You may also work out a parts sharing arrangement
with someone in a different lab section than your own.
You will need to have money on your U-card to buy these parts at
the ECE stockroom. You can add money to your U-card at the
Union building either at the U-card office or at a machine near
the pool tables that takes cash. You can also add money on
line at ucardadmin-sp.blackboard.com/eaccounts by signing on to
your account or as a guest.
Keep all your parts together in a zip-bag or small box to make
your own “ECE 2210 kit” because many parts are used again in later
labs. If you don’t want your kit at the end of the semester,
I’ll help you sell it to a student next semester.
Notes:
Much of this course material is presented in PDF, for which you
will need a reader.
Readers for most platforms can be downloaded for free, examples: Adobe
Acrobat and Ghostscript,
Ghostview and GSview. Choose the Adobe
Acrobat if you just want to read. Choose Ghostscript, Ghostview
and GSview if you want to create PDF files of your own.
To view and print PDF files more
reliably:
Save the file on your computer (right click on link), then open
and/or print the local file only.
