June 11th, 2000

00 We all eventually wake up. They forgot about our safari so they never gave us a wake up call. We sit around, talk, and pack up.

15 Off to the lodge for breakfast.

30 We settle the bill which ends up being less than we thought. Yeeeehaw!

00 Depart Corbett. I'm so glad we went for the air-conditioned (which, by the way, doesn't hold a candle to automotive air-conditioning back in the good ol' U.S.) Asho (our driver) stops for gas twice.

30 Traffic comes to a complete stop as we approach one of the towns along the way. Asho informs us that Sunday Market is a big thing around these parts and especially for this small town. The only two-lane road back to Delhi is completely blocked!

30 After hardly any movement (traffic wise,) Ember tells us that she is not feeling so well. I go with her down to the shady trees on the side of the road while she fans herself.

30 We finally clear the traffic jam and now we are even more anxious than ever to get back to Delhi. Of course, Asho, decides that there is no better time to have a fresh order of eggs.

30 We finally make it to our hotel, The Imperial. It is a thousand times nicer than the BB Palace. After tying up loose ends I go to take a shower but Emma has already tied up the shower with her laundry. Oh well.

Ember is now sicker than ever. I offer to help but there is not much to do other than let her sleep. Later, in the night, I have super weird dreams: In the first one I meet a young girl and her mother who are dead and who ask me to go to some town. When I finally arrive in the town I meet the townspeople and the young child and her mother are among them - this time living. Weird! I forget how it ends. In the next dream we have rushed Ember home because she is so sick. I realize that the trip isn't over so I spend what seems like forever trying to get back before my time is up.
