9:00 Breakfast

10:30 We all head out to the pool and meet a designer from Fort Collins, Colorado. She has been doing business in India for over twenty years so she is able to give us some great advice. To me, the best advice has to do with the markets around Connaught Place.

12:30 I head out into the streets and take an autorickshaw to some of the markets. I find a place that is selling silk oriental rugs so I buy one for $85.00 USD. They are also selling really cool art but I am in a hurry so I don't even bother to look.

14:00 We meet up with our tour guide, Sanjay. He first takes us to the Gandhi memorial where Gandhi's ashes are buried and where the Eternal Flame of Peace burns. Considered holy ground, we had to walk through the complex barefoot, which, in the Indian heat, is no easy task. He then takes us to the largest Muslim Mosque in India. The architecture is so amazing. The faithful pray towards Mecca five times throughout the day which I find impressive. Sanjay then takes us by the Red Fort. It is a large red sandstone building with a perimeter of 4.3 kilometers that only serves to encompass military barracks. "Other than that," Sanjay tells us, "there is not much else inside." Sanjay finally takes us to the India Gate. It looks a lot like the Arc De Triumphe in Paris, only smaller. The british built it after World War II to honor the Indian soldiers who helped them in the war. It is really cool to see but I am even more taken by the snake charmer that is off on the side of the road. I give him 50 rupees to let me sit beside him and wrap his python around my neck. I also get to come face to face with his cobra. You can't go to India and not check out the snake charmers. Sanjay finishes our tour just a little early.

19:00 We meet with K.C. who is anxious to get all of our flight info so he can help us plan out Chennai. After we agree to meet with him again the following night, we try to find the restaurant we've been looking for ever since we landed in Delhi. Our taxi driver gets very lost and has to pull over and ask for directions several times. After an hour of driving around in circles the car finally runs out of gas. We get out and tell the driver that we are walking. I refuse to pay so he and I begin to argue in the street. After he calls a police officer I agree to pay him half and we leave.

14:30 By now all of the markets have closed and we are all very hungry anyway, so we head to the hotel coffee shop for a late dinner.
