Welcome to the 2007 IEEE Communication Theory Workshop
The communication theory workshop (CTW) is one of the most prestigious
technical events sponsored by IEEE Communication Society (ComSoc). CTW
will hold its 36th annual technical program at Hilton Sedona Resort &
Spa, Sedona, Arizona from 20th till 23rd of May 2007. The setting is
extremely cozy, friendly, and the venue is ideal for a focused
workshop. The workshop enjoys the broad reputation for a forum that
brings distinguished researchers and scientists to a small venue for a
strong technical program.
The theme for the workshop is on convergence of network and physical
layer issues. The workshop will promote discussions on a paradigm shift
where point-to-point communication issues will be expanded to consider
cross layer engineering design that will include the distributed
information sources, the radio enabled nodes in the network, and the
physical radio channels between the nodes. The technical program will
begin with three plenary lectures by distinguished speakers: Professor
Robert Calderbank from Princeton University, Professor Anthony
Ephremides from University of Maryland, and Professor Venugopal
Veeravalli from University of Illinois. Between technical sessions
there will be two panels which offer a debate forum for leading
researchers to brainstorm new research directions.
